Accomplishments of 2006
2006 was a momentous year for the Strebel Planning Group. In addition to receiving industry recognition and being featured in various national publications, the Strebel Planning Group was recognized for outstanding service, and continuous commitment and dedication to the Tompkins County community and honored with the 2006 David R. Strong Memorial Small Business of the Year Award.
Additional achievements include:
• The initial phase of expansion construction began this past fall. The current phase will create over 2000 square feet of professional space, while still allowing clientele to experience the original and expanded components of an 1836 Greek Revival Home, the oldest house in the Hamlet of Varna.
• Paul Strebel, one of the founding partners of the group, instituted, designed and teaches a new Financial Planning course for Cornel University.
• The Strebel Fund for Community Enrichment was created in the memory and spirit of Lee Strebel’s love of the performing arts. The purpose of this fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Tompkins County, is to carry on Lee’s artistic vision and legacy, and supports talented high school students, individually or through organizations, who desire to develop to their full potential through continued studies, with special emphasis in the performing arts. Additionally, this fund supports various organizations, including arts education in the Ithaca City School District, local thespian events, and other related community programs. A portion of The Strebel Planning Groups profits will be bestowed to this fund annually.
• Three key associates joined the team in 2006, Angela O’Neil – Financial Planner, Tim Begany – Para Planner, Evie Westbrook – Administration, adding to our high standards of excellence and success.
Plans for 2007
• Completion and grand opening of the initial phase of the expansion is expected in mid 2007.
• Development and implementation of the latest technology to better serve our clients.
• Continued dedication to Lee Strebel’s love of the performing arts through grants, awards, and programs made possible by The Strebel Fund for Community Enrichment.
These are exciting plans for growth and expansion in the upcoming year, however our goal to use our experience, insight, and strategic relationships to provide our clients with the very best service, and advice, remains our utmost priority.
